Pig Parts Popcorn; Happy Halloween Witches!

Candy candy and more candy, I can feel the diabetes already, but don’t fear, I’ve got an alternative that’s just as delicious. Yes Honey Boo Boo, it’s Pig Parts Popcorn. The savory buttered kernels made their debut last Friday at The Rhyme Along’s Halloween Edition of Hip Hop Karaoke. The party was off the 2 Chainz and everyone, even security, devoured PP&B’s salty snacks. It was such a good night. The costumes were creative and the piggy treat bags were too cute. Kudos to all the folks who voluntarily rapped their hearts out. Who knew that Pasadena Has Talent. There were several outstanding performances that night, including our very own Where’s Waldo singing “Ooh Baby Like It Raw”.

Pig Parts Popcorn
3 tablespoons olive oil
1/3 cup kernels
1 stick unsalted butter
1 tablespoon Bacon Salt
1 tablespoon Dry Rosemary
1 tablespoon Dry Sage
1 tablespoon Sea Salt
In medium sauce pan, melt butter with herbs over medium heat. stir for 3 minutes. Do not brown, but keep warm on low heat until popcorn is done.
Pour olive oil and popcorn into heavy pan with lid. Cover pan and shake gently over medium high heat, allowing steam to escape from popping kernels. Remove pan from heat when popping stops and carefully pour into large bowl. Sprinkle bacon salt and salt evenly, then drizzle butter herb mixture. Continue hand mix with wooden spoon until evenly distributed. Season to taste.
